Kim Krummel, AMFT

Kim meets clients where they are, providing integrative psychotherapy to best meet each individual’s needs. Kim's approach is collaborative, attachment- and strengths-based, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic.

Kim has experience treating a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, addiction, relationship/family issues, stress, and low self-esteem. Kim incorporates her training in internal family systems, trauma-focused CBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness into her work. A strength of hers is forming a strong therapeutic alliance with clients of all backgrounds, cultures, ages, identities, orientations, beliefs, and abilities. Kim’s previous experience as a hotline volunteer for parents (Safe and Sound; Family Paths), and life experiences as a coach, teacher, and parent, inform her work with children, teens, individuals, and families.

Kim earned her MA in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley in 2020, and was a clinician at Haight Ashbury Psychological Services in San Francisco most recently. Prior to her therapeutic work, Kim was an educational book editor, helping authors express themselves, to teach others through writing. She deeply believes that we all have a story to share, and, in the telling, can find a path towards healing, towards an integrated self. Kim has lived and worked in a number of other countries, and now resides in San Francisco, raising two teenagers, and finding great joy in serving the community she lives in.
